Hi, I’m Anne Spearman

My goal as a therapist is to provide an environment that will allow you to feel comfortable, understood and heard. My collaborative, easy-going and fun approach is designed to fit your needs and goals. Having known from a young age that I have a passion for helping people, I attended graduate school to gain the experience and education necessary to work in the counseling field. After receiving my bachelors degree in psychology from Clemson University in 2003, I attended Webster University to obtain my masters degree in counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor  (#5445) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (#327753) with almost 7 years post-graduate experience as a therapist.

I have worked with all age groups, varying populations and cultures, in a variety of settings including local mental health offices, as well as inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities. My work in two major psychiatric hospitals as well as a crisis intervention program at a local mental health center provided me with extensive experience delivering individual, family and group therapy to adults with mild to severe mental illness and chemical dependency. I have received one-on-one supervision and training from nationally known professionals in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I also have post-graduate training and education in evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, as well as the self-destructive behaviors often associated with these conditions in adults and teens. I also specialize in providing supportive counseling to individuals who are in difficult, high conflict relationships with someone with Borderline or Narcissist Personality Disorder as well as individuals going through separation, divorce, contested custody, or litigation in the family court system. Through a combination of techniques, I assist people to take control of their behavior, improve their relationships and experience more joy.

In addition to operating my private counseling practice, I am also a consultant for The High Conflict Institute PatternViewer team. The HCI PatternViewer team is provided by EVDense Corporation, and is affiliated with Bill Eddy and the High Conflict Institute. Bill is founder of HCI and has authored many books, including Splitting: Protecting yourself while divorcing someone with a Narcissistic or Borderline Personality Disorder. As part of the HCI PatternViewer team, I provide consulting and coaching to help parents cope with patterns of high conflict behavior in divorce and custody cases. It is my pleasure to work with a talented group of individuals dedicated to assisting those involved in high conflict legal disputes through the use of HCI PatternViewer. Based on my experience and training, I am confident I can help you make changes to improve your life, yourself and your relationships.
